WHAT?

Playmaker U Football Camp Series has expanded due to demand in 2010!

We have added a Speed development component with our SPEED 101 collaboration with speed specialists ATHLETES NATION which will take place in February. In March players will have an opportunity to register for positional workshops each weekend of the month for two hour sessions with the pros indoors, in which they will learn and work on position specific drills, get workout tips, and spend time in the classroom learning how to correctly break down opponents through film study. And of course the much anticipated return of PMU's Passing and General camp series in April and May is back with a vengeance. Playmaker U will host Bantams, High school, as well as Junior age players to their own Passing and General camps for each of the 3 age groups! Playmaker U also introduces MINI CAMP for Atoms/Peewee players in May. And finally, Playmaker U will once again offer a provincial 7 on 7 tournament for high school age players this summer.

In an effort to provide the youth football market in Alberta with the best possible drill, instruction, technique and scheme coaching outside of their respective league and school teams – Playmaker U offers the chance to learn from the very best players that Canada has to offer. CFL stars from both the Edmonton Eskimos as well as other teams throughout the CFL will team up to offer campers a truly unique football learning experience. Football is a game that transfers well into life itself. We offer the instruction of some of the finest in the field of football to instruct your kids on how to be successful both on the field and in life.

WHO?

CFL stars past and present such as Kamau Peterson, Ricky Ray, Jason Maas, Calvin McCarty, Arkee Whitlock, Adam Braidwood, Anwar Stewart, Agustin Barrenechea, Maurice LLoyd Henry Burris, Patrick Kabongo, Shannon Garrett, Mathieu Bertrand, A.J. Gass, Javi Glatt, Ed Hervey, Jason Tucker, Tristan Jackson, Jesse Lumsden, Jason Goss and more will be on hand to personally teach campers the essential tools of the trade as per their respective positions. Coaches availability will dictate which camps that they are present for.

WHY?

Aside from the expert tutelage offered at each Playmaker U Camp, each camper will receive a gift pack with complimentary Playmaker U Camp apparel, a limited edition CFL star poster with each coach of their respective camp on it to get autographed at the camp. They will also receive a Playmaker U Playbook of their own one week prior to camp which they may keep and use for reference in the future.

Through our partnership with ATHLETES NATION Passing and General camp participants will undergo official combine testing at the Athletes Nation facility in St. Albert. 40yd dash, short shuttle, vertical leap, and broad jump will be tested by Athletes Nation staff and results posted on the PMU website for athletes, coaches and scouts to see. Athletes Nation uses electronic timing which provides the most accurate reading currently available. Participants will receive instruction from both Athletes Nation and Edmonton Eskimo training staff on nutrition, substance abuse, and ideal training methods. Finally, the daily speaker series here at Playmaker U includes CFL veterans, All-stars, coaches, and Hall of Famers – all of which are available to offer motivation and insight both into the game itself, as well as life.
