FAQ
Athlete Training: (All Sport)
Q: What ages does PMU train?
A: PMU trains athletes ages 11 through 65
Q: Does PMU train athletes other than football players?
A: Absolutely! Most if not all sports can benefit from added speed, power, and agility.
Q: Who trains the PMU athletes that aren’t in football?
A: All athletes who cross through PMU’s doors will be trained by Kamau Peterson himself. Aside from a stellar 11 year career in pro football spanning the NFL and CFL - Kamau has been a world class track athlete, Division 1 NCAA basketball player, and holds several athletic and personal training certifications to accompany his diverse and high level competitive and training history.
Q: Is there any advantages to Group or Team training?
A: The cost is significantly reduced in groups of 10 or more. Camaraderie and cohesion are built in times of training together, and trust comes in knowing your teammate has been through what you have and endured.
Q: What is the Smart Speed Agility/Timing system you use for?
A: While it is the most accurate method of electronic timing out right now, it’s main use at PMU is in it’s reactive and agility interval sequence drill training. Come in and take it for a spin! Here’s just a couple of applications. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Jh02tbw8vU&feature=player_embedded , and also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUDuxjMmwQE&feature=player_embedded
Football Academy:
Q: How hard is the training @ the Academy?
A: Not for the feint of heart. This game demands we push our limits, and Academy participants will certainly have theirs pushed.
Q: After the deposit is paid, when is the balance due?
A: By the beginning of the 4th week of that session, the balance must be paid.
Q: What is the best way to pay and ensure my spot?
A: Either on site via debit, cash, cheque or credit card, or by Paypal are the fastest method and would ensure your spot almost instantly.
Q: Do I need pads or mouthguard for the Academy?
A: No. The only thing requiring pads or mouthpieces at PMU is our camp series.
Camp Series:
Q: What ages are your camps for?
A: We hold a Bantam camp for returning bantam players, High school camp general and passing camp, and our Top Flight Passing clinic which is by invitation only with ages ranging from 17-25
Q: How can I get nominated for TOP FLIGHT?
A: To be a TOP FLIGHT nominee, our staff and scouts would have had to see you play or train to weigh your talent against the best in the region. It increases your chances to attend PMU skill camps, Academy, or clinics because the more we can see you, the better chance we have to evaluate you.
Q: What do you do with the Combine results from the Camp series?
A: Combine results are posted on our website, and sent out to over 200 US and CIS football programs.
Q: How do I access Combine results?
A: If you were a participant, you would have received an access code, if not please email us and we’ll authorize clearance if needed.
Q: Do scouts attend your camps?
A: In a word, yes. Scouts and coaches from all over can be seen at our events due to the high level of competition

Q: Who are the coaches PMU uses?

Q: Is there any way of knowing which coach I may get before the camp starts?
A: All positional coaches are announced prior to events. Some are added last minute however, but normally you would know prior.
How are the Coaches selected?
Playmaker U searches the CFL and does so yearly in search of the best technicians, communicators, and motivators that blend a high level of play with coaching aptitude. We then hand-selected each instructor to lead the PMU curriculum and agreed to pay them a premium to train our PMU athletes.
Empower:
Q: Does PMU take in clients that aren’t athletes?
A: Absolutely! Both as personal, and group training clients as well as in or bootcamp series.
Q: Is there any advantage to training at an athlete training facility if you’re not an athlete?
A: At PMU we believe that you don’t have to be an athlete to train like one. The fitness level
and competitive edge that athletes possess is something that most could benefit from in their own every day lives. In the same principle as, “Want to be a soldier, then follow one.” we believe that the only way to attain the physical benefits that athletes experience is to train like one.
