4 Positions offered: QB, REC, OL, DB

Times:

DB - Saturdays - March 6, 13, 20, (4-6:30pm)
Sunday - March 28th (12:30-3pm)

Cost:  $165 for all 4 sessions - REGISTRATION CLOSED

Playmaker U is offering Bantam, high school and junior/collegiate age athletes more personalized time with professionals at their position. Each position with coaches available will hold a 4 week workshop consisting of one 2.5 hr sessions per week. 30 athletes is maximum capacity per session, with a minimum of 15 athletes to make the session.

In these sessions, the CFL players will spend approximately 60 min working on position specific drill work. Athletes Nation strength/speed trainers will work with athletes for 20-30 min outlining position specific exercises, strength/speed/agility movements, and weightlifting points of emphasis, to enhance participants knowledge of their own needed fitness levels for their own training regiments. The last 30-60 min will go into film study and opponent preparation. Young players will get the opportunity for in-depth breakdowns of fronts, one-on-one techniques, formations, coverages, and pattern recognition from the pros themselves.

Jason Maas will oversee the Quarterbacks, and is a well known leader and respected football mind in all CFL circles. His passion to teach what he has learned over his career shows through as Quarterbacks from 2009 Playmaker U camps can surely attest to. His 2 Grey Cup Championship rings alone make his voice one that any young quarterback can benefit from hearing.

Kamau Peterson takes over the receivers for these workshops and takes pride in having aided young receivers in less formal settings over the years. With one Grey Cup ring, one Most Outstanding Canadian trophy, 3 All-star nods, and 10 years of professional experience in all 3 major football leagues Kamau has much to offer an eager young pass catcher. He will be aided by former Edmonton Wildcat, and current Edmonton Eskimo receiver Kevin Wuthrich - who Kamau has mentored since 2008.

Kyle Koch heads up the offensive line as a new and welcome addition to the Playmaker U team. Widely regarded as the best technician on the Eskimos offensive line, the McMaster Grad is eager to impart what he has learned to the next generation of pass protectors here in Alberta. Kyle was a 4 time Eskimo linemen of the week in 2009 and started in all 18 games in place of the recently retired Dan Comiskey.

Jason Goss will lead the defensive backs for this event. A three time All-star and widely regarded as one of the top ball-hawks in the CFL, Goss joins the Playmaker U team of instructors with a wealth of NFL and CFL experience behind him. Goss was named the Eskimos defensive player of the year in 2008 and is eager to teach what has helped him attain such success to any young DB's willing to listen and work hard.

This targeted positional attention from these Eskimo stars will give direction to young player spring training, and a leg up going into the Playmaker U Camps Series in April and May, as well as their respective team camps and Minor league games.
